VGP inititates new warehouse construction at VGP Park Bratislava for Continental Tires
- VGP is starting the construction of the extension of the Continental warehouse in VGP Park Bratislava
- Continental Tires will expand its existing premises by another 11,000 m²
- Total leasable area of the park will reach 404,000 m², making it one of the largest VGP parks in Europe
9 September 2024, Bratislava: VGP, the pan-European owner, manager, and developer of semi-industrial and logistics real estate is launching the construction of the extension of the Warehouse "F" at VGP Park Bratislava with a lettable area of 11,800 m2. The tenant is the international company Continental, a leading supplier of tires and technologies for the automotive industry. The handover of the newly completed space, which is mainly intended for warehousing, will take place in June of next year.
Continental develops pioneering technologies and services for sustainable and connected mobility of people and their goods. Founded in 1871, the technology company offers safe, efficient, intelligent and affordable solutions for vehicles, machines, traffic and transportation. In 2023, Continental generated sales of €41.4 billion and currently employs about 200,000 people in 56 countries and markets.
"At VGP Park Bratislava, we have been operating a regional distribution center for Continental for over two years. From there, we distribute tires for a range of our brands— to Slovakia but also to the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, and the countries of the Adriatic region. We are pleased to expand our storage capacity. Warehouse “F” is designed to minimise its ecological footprint and use energy efficiently, the park aspires to achieve the international sustainability certification BREEAM. The entire VGP Park Bratislava offers a number of eco-friendly solutions, including the installation of photovoltaic panels on the roofs of the buildings and charging stations for cars. It is occupied by such prestigious tenants as DIRKS, Geis SK, Coca-Cola and Packeta Slovakia. Long term, the park will include 11 halls overall with a total lettable area exceeding 400,000 m². Before the end of this year, VGP plans to start construction of Warehouse “C”, which so far has not been let. This space is currently being offered to potential tenants with a minimum unit size of 4,000 m². Once fully completed, VGP Park Bratislava will be one of the largest parks in VGP’s European portfolio.
