Sustainability at VGP

We aim to build sustainable and technologically advanced logistics properties and help our clients achieve their company’s sustainability goals.
VGP Park München: an example of our climate efforts
Is there any better park to put in the spotlight at EXPO REAL than our VGP Park München? This iconic VGP Park not only has a prime location, it also has many sustainable features and perfectly fits our sustainability strategy.
Prime Location
VGP Park München has a prime location north of the Parsdorf junction on the A94 motorway, near the city centre of München, only 5 minutes from München Messe and 30 minutes from the airport. The region is an economic, agricultural, industrial, trade and education centre. The park is built on a land area of 674,000 m² and has a gross lettable area of 314,000 m². It is fully leased and offers tailormade solutions for its tenants, two iconic Bavarian production companies: BMW Group and KraussMaffei Group.
Sustainability at VGP Park München
The park has one of Germany’s largest solar panel installations with a capacity of more than 12 MWp, and has many other features to run on the highest efficiency. Furthermore, the park has a lot of greenery, such as new trees, a green roof and green façades. Facilities to charge electric vehicles, and even electric bikes are also available at the park.
Additionally, VGP has made an ecological compensation area next to the park. The area has 24 hectares of fields, dry grasslands, flower strips and ponds. The northern part focuses on nature protection and the creation of habitats for amphibians, while the southern part focuses on the protection of special bird species, such as the endangered skylark. A great example of how we want to contribute to the conservation of the biodiversity and ecological balance of the communities where we operate.
Activities
KraussMaffei Group leases a gross lettable area of 211,500 m² and has relocated its complete production of all regional divisions and its head office to VGP Park München. Not only three production halls and four office and social spaces, but also a electric vehicle equipped park house, a canteen and a 15,000 m² Customer Experience Centre are built at the park. BMW Group leases 64,450 m² for its Research and Innovation Center, dedicated to research on batteries for its electric vehicles. As a result of the activities of these two tenants, the park provides a wide range of jobs in production, logistics and administration.
